| Planning for a mission trip can be a very exciting time. We experience excitement about world travel, memorable opportunities, to experience a new culture and ultimately to see Jesus Christ glorified through our efforts. This is one of those types of trips, a trip that holds the excitement of a new place and new opportunity, while still brandishing the opportunity of Kingdom impact through something as simple as conversational English. The focused work will be with college age students at the Ukraine English Camp in Kyiv, hosted by one of our supported missionaries.
Are you:
· A mature and growing Christian? · Someone who isn’t afraid to speak openly about your faith to another? · Willing to share Christ with others through new relationships and stepping out of your comfort zone? · Willing to put others first in times of frustration and adversity, setting aside personal motive or selfish ambition? · Physically healthy and capable of strenuous travel and long hours? · At least 17 years of age (before July 31) and able to relate to those students your age or much younger (if you’re well over 17J)? · Proficient in conversational English? On the right you will find a video from a Ukraine English Camp trip this past fall. Below that you will also see several links chock full of information you will need to help make your decision and better understand what it is our trip will consist of as well as what it will require of you. There is the info packet which includes a timeline and expectations and responsibilities of the trip, a sample support letter to help you get the ball rolling with fundraising, and the application for OMS International. Would you consider committing this opportunity to prayer? I believe that God already has the team assembled and is preparing the hearts of those who are to be a part of trip. It is up to us to be faithful in conditioning our hearts and minds to do the work of the Lord and being faithful to take the necessary action steps in moving forward. While the short-term cost may be great, the eternal influence is immeasurable! We’ll be holding an information meeting to answer questions and give an overview on February 17 from 5:30-6:30pm in the Student Center. Your Partner in Ministry, Pastor Eric |
